Hello guys. I have very simple but at the same time complicated question - how to get some real information about different states\cities in US, if i am the immigrant and i don't know anything about US yet? I tryed to find some on youtube, but i found only some humor-shows and pranks. But i want to find some video (preferably), where i can see inhabitants of that state, how they speak, how they live, and other things.

I want some not hot state. For example - i am living in Florida. And i don't like the heat. Is it possible to find some another state, where is not cold and people are friendly to immigrants? So i assume it should be not Montana.

THank you.

Maybe consider an area which has a lot of immigrants w/your background.

Metro Detroit in Michigan has a huge immigrant population from all over; Asia, middle east, Europe.....

For example, if I was Chaldean, I'd definitely look at Sterling Heights Michigan because they have a huge Chaldean/Arabic/Middle Eastern population in the area.

(Also, Michigan has 4 seasons)

I'm just thinking in terms of finding a community you can connect with wherever you decide to move.

I'm not sure where to find the kind of videos you want to view.

What's your idea of hot and what's your idea of cold and what's your budget?

My idea of hot is over 90F
My idea of cold is under 25F. But even at 25F, I deal with it :-)

Colorado is typically not a hot climate even in the summer it has no humidity and has a lot of immigrants especially Denver. California has a cool climate that isn't too hot or cold but it is expensive.

Dear God, don't go to Detroit, it's a war-zone.

Try Minneapolis, Minnesota. It's an Oasis in the sucktacular Midwest. The summers can be warm, but it's a beautiful city.

Otherwise check out the Pacific Northwest: Washington, Oregon, Idaho. Cool climate.

Go where you can find a job and not where the weather is supposedly nice. Be it North Dakota, Georgia or Massachussetts. Once you have an established career in the US you can still try to move elsewhere.
