In Southern California we had the Doo Dah Parade. In Iowa New Year's Eve means the gloves come off in the political campaigns. In Miami people shoot guns straight up into the air (and just hope they don't accidentally kill someone). Here in Virginia we have a New Year's Day "polar bear plunge" into the Potomac.

Sooooo, what do they do to celebrate New Years in your town?

Baltimore---Inner Harbor fireworks and a number of different sites downtown throw parties. I go up on my deck and watch the fireworks and bang a pot.
