I know what you're doing.

I'm dead serious.

Someone should try starting a poll in the Philadelphia forum. I know the city well. Very well. I would wager that 55-60% would say Philadelphia is not in the Northeast. How could it be?

In the 1970s, people were describing Philadelphia as a "sleepy southern town" with a "relaxed pace of life." That's changed a bit now, as the city has become more developed, but that gentility the city is known for has always been and always will be part of the culture.

And it should be YOU who starts said poll in the Philly forum. Can't wait to see how that goes! I'll need an extra large tub of popcorn for that one. Go ahead, do it.

I disagree, I don't think the majority would say that.

If you're curious, start the thread.

The ghosts of William Penn and Benjamin Franklin laugh at your foolishness. Baltimore and Philadelphia are carbon copies of each other. Identical in pretty much every way possible. Yet a majority of respondents in the Baltimore forum said they were NOT northeastern.

Is Baltimore an Northeastern city?

I can only imagine the results in the Philadelphia forum will look the same. I only wish I could see the look on your face once the results roll in.

Pennsylvania is a border state that feels influences from the North and South (and Midwest!). It's far too complex to pidgeonhole into a region.

I could give a toss about Baltimore. I just want to see you post this poll in the Philly forum. We'll see whose "foolishness" incurs the most laughter then. I'll even be gracious enough to post a pic of the look on my face when the results roll in. Please do it.

Whether the OP considers it serious or not, the answer to your question is still no.
