I know it wasn't you; it was another person from another part of the message board. I was only asking if you could give me a positive point.

I will post what I like about my state in my next post.

I'm not sure where you live and am interested in what you like about YOUR state. I want to recheck the thread and see if you posted it and if not, get busy. LOL I'd love to know the postives of where you live.

That's why New Jersey's been so sneaky to give you the best pizza, hoagies, cheesesteak sandwiches, the "shore experience", etc. you can't find anywhere else pixieshmoo... they know that that evens out the issues....emotionally!!!! Everyone who ever leaves New Jersey for somewhere else because of high costs, outrageous real estate prices, exhorbitant property taxes...etc...moans about missing life there They've gotchya!

I'll let you guess my home state:

1. 70,000 miles of rivers and streams.

2. A park that is larger than Yellowstone, Yosemite, Grand Canyon, Glacier, and Olympic Parks combined.

3. Home to 58 species of wild orchids.

4. Dairying is its most important farming activity with over 18,000 cattle and or calves farms.

5. Home to the oldest cattle ranch in the U.S., established in 1658.

I was going to say Wisconsin but I think you are purposely trying to mislead us!

After some research... it's New York!

I should have said no cheating, but you are correct, it is New York.

Cows, rivers, mountains, flowers, and all the other amenities of nature exist in New York; not to mention the in your face dominant New York City.

Taxes could stand to be a bit lower, but the higher cost is well worth it. I'd sooner live under a bridge before living anywhere else. Anyone have a cardboard box I can borrow? LOL

I love the physical beauty of the state I live in. We have the Grand Canyon for starters and we have mountains, desert scenery, the best sunsets. I can look out my windows and see mountains, it can be nice down here in the desert and the mountains can have snow. Nice contrast. Saguaro Cactus. tons of wildlife. We hear the coyotes a lot at night. We even have mountian lions out here. If you like the change of scenery and seasons you can still find it in Arizona, up north you can ski, down here you can usually be outside all year. My area has more sunny days then any area of the country! Most of the year we have low humidity.

Ok, what I don't like. No good pizza . Its getting too built up. Construction is shoddy(my opinion). I miss the fall back east. I hate the summer here.
Job market is not great. Salaries are low. Miss the east coast sarcasm(sometimes), out here most people are pleasant, but you don't really know where you stand. When you need work done its difficult to find a reputable person, and believe me, this is a skilled tradespersons dream area, becuase you have plenty of job security with all the crap houses they are building. lol
No place is perfect and if it is, we can't afford to live there.
