I would say you rarely hear about Jacksonville, Stockton, or to a lesser extent Indianapolis all that much. What do you think?
Jacksonville has an NFL team and has hosted a superbowl so in that sense you hear about it. Stockton gets press for being such a crime ridden ****hole constantly. How many times has it made #1 or #2 Most Illiterate or Miserable City in America? lol
Fort Worth definitely gets overlooked, due to it's larger Eastern neighbor-city that it shares a metro with, but Fort Worth is definitely a major city in it's own right.
Stockton on the other hand--don't bother. Had family near there and grew up driving through it to go somewhere else---and that town is sort of a lost cause.
Yeah, couldn't agree more. I've been there and it's really dismal. Not only the armpit of CA, but possibly the armpit of the entire Western U.S. I'm still not sure why it's even being considered in this thread. The entire metro is only 700K population. Hardly what I would call a "major city".

I agree with this post 100%. Virginia Beach and Norfolk especially!
Trenton-Princeton NJ area... the population here would easily equal the city of buffalo. great performing region too. overlooked because it's smack between NYC and Philly
