That's false.

It's human nature to divide ourselves into groups. If it's not race then it would be something else.

Good luck convincing the demographers of the U.S. census of that.

http://www.census.gov/prod/cen2010/b...c2010br-04.pdf

Go to page 3 where they have a chart that lists Hispanics and Latinos by type. One of those types includes Spaniards.

It wouldn't make any sense to exclude Spaniards as being Hispanic because they originated from Hispania, so Spaniards are the most qualified to identify with that term.

Have you read the Census? A Hispanic can be of any race, including White. Also, a Hispanic is someone whose origins are in Spanish speaking countries. Spain, being the original Spanish speaking country qualifies them as Hispanic. In the Census a Spaniard would have NO choice but to mark Hispanic (and White).

Have you ever seen people from the Caucasus region? They don't look like an average White American. Kourtney Kardashian is half Armenian and even she doesn't look like the typical White girl. Google pictures of Armenians and you'll see a different look.

But that's a different topic. Hispanic is not a race.
