This. Prince George's County, Montgomery County, Howard County, Charles County, Calvert County, Anne Arundel County, and Baltimore County are good places in the state for African Americans, be them working class, lower/mid/upper middle class, and/or upper class. A majority of us are born and raised here in the state but you'll also find a lot of African Americans and Black Americans in general from elsewhere.

Other states that seem to be good or popular with like-minded AAs are Georgia, North Carolina, Virginia, New York, and Texas. I'm sure there are several more.

Determining such a quality by states has lots of drawbacks, as opportunity isn't distributed equally across any state. For instance, Maryland may rank first when it comes to certain QOL factors, but that's mainly due to suburban DC skewing things in a fairly small state. It's more accurate to look at things from a metropolitan perspective.

I don't think we need to complicate things, though. He asked a simple question so give him a simple answer. Maryland.

I abhor threads like this. And yes, I did just take the time to read through the comments and express my disdain. "Best State for African Americans" ??? Umm, pick one...

Here are a few other odd, self-limiting questions to help us in our attempts to marginalize black people:

What's the best hour of the day for African Americans to work?
What kind of car should African Americans drive to be successful?
What fabric color should African Americans wear to make others happy?
What temperature should African Americans keep their thermostats on while sleeping?

I'll think of more. Give me a sec
