When going to work/school/entertainment/stores etc is it relatively close to your house or is it a bit of a journey?

mostly close by (within walking or 5-min drive)

but to get to other parts of town to see other people and go to different entertainment/stores then it can sometimes be a long journey (up to 30 min drive)

Work: my couch

School: My kids go to 3 different schools, none more than 5-10 min away (driving)

Entertainment: I have a dollar movie theater within a few blocks, a multiplex within less than 10 minutes. Dozens of restaurants within 15 minutes. Downtown of a major city within 15-20 minutes. All four major sports within 20 minutes. Casinos within 45 minutes.

Stores: Grocery/gas/drug/auto parts/hardware/24 hour Wal-Mart all within 5 minutes.

IMO I live in one of the best locations in my area.

Nearly everything I need is within a 4-5 mile radius, except the hospital/medical center, it's eight miles away. Love living in a small city.

Plenty of entertainment a short walk down the block for me, but for big box/chains I have to run a bit, and I work 15 miles west of where I live (30-45 minute commute).
