It would depend on what you mean by "entertainment." If you mean entertainment as a product and export, then by far Los Angeles/Hollywood; but if you mean entertainment for consumption within the market, then definitely Las Vegas.

What's funny is if you queried those English musicians, they would say Chicago (Bo Diddley, Muddy Waters, Howlin' Wolf, etc.).

If you truly think they're the greatest band of all time, then it might be a good idea to show them some respect by spelling their name properly.

The best part of LA is west LA around Bel Air, Brentwood, Beverly Hills and that is the rich area where most of the Hollywood stars live other than Malibu.
As someone who grew up and still lives on the westside I agree, even the not so exclusive westside communities like Mar Vista, and Culver City are still relatively nice and safe, but the beauty is really in Bel Air, Hollywood Hills, West Hollywood, Brentwood, Santa Monica, Malibu, Marina Del Rey and you left out the South Bay Beach cities which IMO Hermosa and Manhattan Beach are also beautiful, and I'd even argue that parts of Studio City, Encino and Sherman Oaks in the valley are very nice too.

So LA Wins as far as entertainment/celebrity/television capital of the US, but if your talking entertainment in terms of fun and partying, etc then I'd say Miami Beach or Las Vegas
