I saw thread about cities with the worst downtown. I would like to know what cities have the best downtown. Either small, mid-size or large cities.

Chicago, New Orleans, New York City, San Francisco. LA and Miami are improving as well, and so is Philadelphia.

New York City is in a tier of its own.

Then Chicago, San Francisco and Boston.

The big cities are easy to name. For a small city of around 90K it's hard to beat Asheville NC.

Austin should be in the Top 10, with all of its clubs, restaraunt, hotels, it is one of the most vibrant downtowns.

I don't see how it could be overlooked unless somebody just hasn't been to downtown Austin.
