There are several African nations mentioned in the article.
That's interesting to learn. Thanks for bringing that to my attention. Nigerians/Egyptians aren't quite at the top (for instance, 65% of Jews have college degrees), but then again, the study was done back in 2001, so the statistics may very well have changed since then.

I think they put those groups at the top, because Jews can be of any ethnicity or race and is more of a religious based ethnicity.

In terms of the thread topic, there are some Asians sprinkled though out communities in southern Mississippi.

There is some ethnic variation among Jewish groups, but even then, genetic clustering is quite close for the most part (phenotypical/cultural differences notwithstanding). 94% of American Jews are white, of which the overwhelming majority are Ashkenazi.

Great, but considering this thread is specifically regarding Asian populations "outside of the big cities," it's far more interesting to note high Hmong populations outside places like the Twin Cities than in "a big city." So places like Wausau, WI, with a high Hmong population per cap, local radio shows, stores, etc., is on topic and the amount of Hmong in the Twin Cities is not.

Again, in the 3 states with significant Hmong population (WI/MN/CA) there are small cities outside major metros like LA/San Fran/Milwaukee/Minneapolis that fit mention here to a "t," and that's what this thread is about - stay on topic.

Not to split hairs, but by "big cities", this is what the OP meant:
