I actually dislike my state's spring. Most of the flowers here flower in the summer, so in the spring everything is as barren as it was in the winter, only there's no snow. No leaves in the trees, either. It'll be really chilly, and rain and rain for days, and when it's not raining it's either gloomy, overcast, and 40, or it's an actually decent sunny, warm day. Nice days only happen about once a week, though, and there's nothing pretty on those nice days. I begin to like the weather when the leaves start growing in the trees.

But Appalachia isn't the only place that has this. Far from it.

If you've never seen the Texas Hill Country during the spring, you really should treat yourself. The wildflowers are amazing and the temperatures are fabulous. Great scenic views and lots of sunshine.

East Tennessee has a great spring. Lots of flowering trees, nice predictable warm weather.
