Hello all, my wife and I are looking to relocate to a coastal area, and have some questions. We are looking at the gulf and the Atlantic only at this time. So our needs/wants are,

1. Good schools. We have a young child, so good schools are a must.
2. Low crime
3. Decent job prospects. My wife has experience in accounting and inventory control. I have experience in customer service and logistics management.
4. We don't want a "big city". So no Miami/Tampa etc. We wouldn't mind living near a larger city, we just don't want to be dependent on it. A city of say, 100k/200k would be okay.
5. Activities. We would like to be close to a good amount of stuff to do. Whether that is museums, outdoor activities or whatever.

So, what do you guys think? Is there anywhere that would fit the bill? Thank you in advance for your help!

Check out Palm Harbor, Florida, it's a city of 58K just north of Clearwater (population of just over 100K). The public schools are excellent, crime is low, there are decent job opportunities locally or in Tampa (generally a 25-30 minute commute), plenty to do in/around the area which does not entail having to go to Tampa and 15-20 minutes from some of the best beaches in the country (beautiful white sand).

Virginia Beach or Norfolk, Virginia. You should look into those areas.
