One thing that makes the U.S. great: no two states are the same. That diversity leads to distinct strengths and weaknesses, but how can you know what makes North Dakota different from South Dakota, besides a made-up line separating them?

Well, in the interest of showing that every state sucks in some way, we picked out one key area where each is most deficient. This is what every state is the worst at.

Oh dude lol... Wisconsin...

"A shocking 12.8% of African American men are incarcerated in Wisconsin, nearly double the national average of 6.7%, and 3 percentage points worse than the next-worst state, Oklahoma. An African American man has a higher chance of being sent to jail in Wisconsin than from the B&O railroad in Monopoly."

Do not pass go.
Do not collect $200.
Go directly to Jail.

New Hampshire has the fewest inland waterways. There are certainly worse problems to have, but I don't think they got that right. It has a whole lakes region and lots of rivers.

Hawaii highest homelessness rate is kinda surprising to me, thought at least 10 states (incl. California, Oregon, Washington State, Colorado, Florida) would have a higher rate.

Tennessee is called most dangerous? How When Louisiana has the highest homicide rate and South Carolina the most violent crime.

Also hard to believe that North Carolina is the worst state in the country for education.

Colorado greatest cocaine use? WTF? I think metro Miami/LA alone consume more coke than the entire state of Colorado, especially since Colorado made weed legal.

Delaware least regular excersise? Above the most obese state Texas

Are Idaho drivers really the worst in the country? Montana has the most traffic fatalities per capita.

Indiana most meth incidents Better title would have been worst state in producing meth. Just compare it with the stats of the Southwest States (Arizona, New Mexico), at least they know what they are doing

Nice to know if your over 50 year old and want to commit a crime your best chance to get away with it is in Maryland.

Minnesota most tornadoes? Oklahoma anyone?

Most accidental deaths in New Mexico, How can so many people die by accident in such an open space.

Iowa and Wisconsin maybe more racists than i always thought...

Well the interesting thing about Iowa and the pot market is the drug dealers many times are gang members from Chicago who come over on I-80 and sell bulk drugs to distribute by their minions in the cities along that vein through Iowa....the Quad Cities, Des Moines, Iowa City/Cedar Rapids and over to Omaha. I'm always surprised when they talk about drug arrests on the news back in Iowa that sooooo many are from Chicago and tend to be black. I think that's part of the reason the arrests would be skewed given the general makeup of the state. The overall black population jumped quite a bit from 2000 to 2010 from 72,000 to 115,000.

Minnesota most tornadoes? Oklahoma anyone?...

this came out in an unusual year when Minnesota had a inordinate amount of tornadoes and led the country by a wide margin

Different ways to measure this but here is what the daily beast came up with for the years 1950 - 2012...

Tornadoes/sq mile
1) .0059 Florida
2) .0051 Oklahoma
3) .0047 Kansas
4) .0042 Louisiana
5) .0041 Mississippi
5) .0041 Iowa
7) .0040 Illinois
8) .0038 Alabama

Intensity (Fuji Scale)
1) 1.24 Arkansas
2) 1.21 Indiana
3) 1.16 Mississippi
4) 1.14 Alabama
5) 1.00 Louisiana
6) 0.99 Oklahoma

Fatalities
1) 823 Alabama
2) 509 Mississippi
3) 462 Oklahoma

Injuries
1) 9,285 Alabama
2) 7,390 Oklahoma
3) 6,647 Mississippi

True but since its so isolated, relatively small and expensive... I thought the homeless would get send back to the mainland for a better chance in their life and the image of the islands.
