My wife and do not work in entertainment, healthcare or hospitality. We both have relatively specific job fields where employment cannot be found in every city. Our debt is minimal, and will soon be zero. Our savings are enough to do 20% down on an average east coast house (which is nothing on a west coast house).

We both have grown up in Pennsylvania, and while most of our families are here, we'd like to experience real mountains and everyday adventures for a few years before settling down on the east coast.

Anyone have any experience of leaving a good job, job security and strong job market to go live in a resort town high in the Rockies?
