Though I live in the Southwest, Albuquerque is actually the highest major city in the country (5,500-6,800), so it gets pretty damn cold, sometimes negative. We did get 9 in. of snow out of a storm a couple weeks ago, a pretty rare sight in the Duke City. It gets cold but not TOO snowy, 2 in. is an Antarctic blizzard and everyone looses there damn minds.

The last of our snow melted today.

The next ten days look mild, sunny, and snowless. March and April are our two snowiest months.

This winter was the best I've experienced. Light snow and ice for the end of the year, a few freezes in January and light flurries that sadly did not accumulate. February started out mild and disappointing, and then, BANG! A whole week of snow, actual accumulating snow! Hard snow, soft snow, slippery snow, but over all, beautiful snow! Then spring came (March 1st) and it began to thaw out, little by little, another snowfall on Thursday, not much but something. Now I'm in Austin but it's all gone anyway. Perfect late-winter/early spring. Real beautiful not only watching it fall and stick, but then a week later melt and making the grass green. Texas may not be the Midwest or New England, but it DOES have seasons, even if it's winter's usually mild.

To me, a good winter is one with consistent snowfall (hopefully a white Christmas) and snow that melts sometime in March, does not last into April. A winter with no snow or even ice is no winter at all. I love winter!

Almost 90 degrees here in Phoenix today. Not ready for the upcoming 6 months to be honest with you. February was the second mildest February on record here, I enjoyed the mild temps!

Done deal. I love ABQ's weather. Its just too hot here for too long. Take your July temp and add on basically 20-25 degrees on top of that, and you get Phoenix.

34 degrees today and still several feet of snow on the ground. I don't expect the snow to be all gone until mid April at the earliest. Last year it stuck around until the beginning of May.
