Hawaii, I enjoyed spending time there more than anywhere else in the US and I pine to go back again. The beaches, mountains, weather, fresh produce and seafood, ecological diversity, Pacific Rim culture, its native and cultural past, the volcanoes, the waterfalls, the color of the water off the coast of Kona with shades of cobalt blue and so clear you can see 50 down, the snorkeling, sandy shores bookended with lava rocks, beautiful vegetation, stellar ocean waves, the music and the Aloha spirit. I love love LOVE Hawaii!

That feeling of "paradise" is really easy to lose when you're paying 5 million dollars for a dingy condo in Honolulu.

Doesn't matter, that wasn't my experience there. Also I went to Maui and the Big Island, haven't been to Honolulu yet. Nice try at a cynical knock though.

Succeeded at what? Tarnishing my passion for Hawaii? Are you OK? The fact is I had fun in paradise while on vacation there twice and I intend to return again as I'm passionate about it. Facts and statistics about those experiencing financial despair in Honolulu (like anywhere else) had no effect on my experience when visiting. But you can always state more the glass is half empty "facts" if that kind of cynicism if makes you feel better I guess, since that's how you measure success.
