How would your city be if one day if the mass transit in your city stopped working. It can be anything from light rail/heavy rail, a decent bus system to cities that are starting to implement them etc.... It can be anything from major us city or a smaller city/town.

If the amount of people moved by trains and buses here all the sudden took to the road, it'd be :O

I currently live I'm Charlotte nc and I know we just started our light rail system with extensions going on as we speak. We have fairly good ridership but if our bus system stop working it would be a major blow to the city. Our infrastructure is trying to keep up but at that point it would just crumble.

Getting into Manhattan would be an utter disaster - as well as moving around Manhattan

most others would be painful but more tolerable

In most American cities, nothing would really change that much. Cities like NYC and Chicago would have devastating effects.

It would be a hot mess. Over 800,000 trips on the L, 950,000 bus trips and 315,000 commuter train trips per day. I can't image all those people needing to walk, bike or drive. I would be screwed, I haven't had a car in 13 years, nor do I want one.

NYC's subway system shutdown after Hurricane Sandy. The effects were gridlock on the roads, and extreme long bus commute. Long term, Manhattan wouldn't have been able to survive as a job or economic center, and much of the outer boroughs rather unlivable.
