Well, they say Tempe is the most urban city in Arizona, but it is considered to be a suburb of Phoenix. So I voted for both. Not to say that Tempe is NYC, but hey, if it is the urban center for an entire state, that has got to count for something.

Rural, on a farm 30 minutes north of suburban Kansas City. The best of both worlds with all the entertainment and employment options fairly close while enjoying solitude and tranquilty when I desire.

I live in a suburban town of about 75,000 in a county of 3+ million (Orange County) in a metro area of 13+ million (LA-Orange-Inland Empire). But I'm also on the fringe of the developed area, with vast undeveloped canyon and mountain wilderness just outside of my neighborhood. I bike commute to work (25 miles RT) or can take a bus to work (20 minute trip), so unlike the southern california stereotype, I don't drive a car very much unless I am leaving the area on a weekend or on a vacation trip. I am walking or short bike ride distance to most of the stores, restaurants and businesses that I visit on a regular basis.
