If it means anything, Tampa was rated the WORST city in the country for young professionals, although I happen to disagree with that and would rank it above any of the cities on your list in every category except for job market, in which Raleigh wins. You might also want to consider Charlotte (fast job growth and more going on than Raleigh), Atlanta and vicinity (see Charlotte, but with even more going on), Miami Beach/Fort Lauderdale, FL (even more going on, but job situation not as good although better than Tampa).
Do some research into all of these places on the state forums. There is so much detailed information. Hope this helps.

I'd go with Tampa out of these.

crista, do you live in raleigh currently? Why did you move out of Pittsburgh and how did you go about your job search, finding a place to live and the whole moving process in general? How much did a move cost you?
Oh i so know what you mean about Atwood! I miss madmex too. Nothing beats the Oakland one's margaritas and half off lunch I cant tell you how many times i went there for lunch and stayed all night lol

Atlanta
Hi steelersgirl. I'm originally from Pgh. & went to college at NC State. Raleigh isn't bad but for some reason, i just never felt at home there. It may have changed since then, since that was 20 yrs ago.
I think if you liked Atlanta like you said in your post, you should go there. Honestly, it's not much further from the beach than Raleigh, and personally, I always got a better vibe from the city.

atlanta is quite a drive from the coast... 3 1/2 hours i think? definitely a day/weekend trip sort of thing, but at leas the option is still available. like a few others though, i'd definitely pick atlanta anyway. it has everything you're looking for (and more), except for the coast.
oh, and i'm originally from the tampa area. tampa is awesome and i personally love it, but i know it's not for everyone, it's more of a mini atlanta. so it'd be great if you want that sort of thing, but i think atlanta overall will give you much more of what you want. good luck.
