Check out alter road area in Detroit. It is the outer most road in the city before the suburb of Grosse Point. Literally you will see abandoned ghetto Detroit on one side and beautiful suburban homes (one of the richest suburbs of Detroit) on the other. This is the most extreme out of anything i have ever seen in my life.

Thats Detroit for ya. LA has the same thing with Hollywood in LA proper total dump and Beverly Hills minutes away. I used to live in Northern Ohio, Detroit is an extreme city you have billionaires living in Bloomfield Hills who won't set foot in Detroit scared out their mind of inner city black people. Detroit metro is a strange place. I do agree with you on Grosse Point being so close to Detroit proper its pretty crazy.

Haha that is dead on. I grew up there in the burbs and you wouldn't believe the amount of fear that some people (mainly middle aged white women) have for the city. Hell my own mom was one of them! My dad grew up in the city so he naturally wasn't as scared, just ashamed of what had happened. I would love to see it turn around but truth is they need middle class people to move into neighborhoods by the freaking cruise ship load which just isnt happening.

The Central West End (wealthiest neighborhood in St. Louis) borders the West End and is close to Wellston, both of which are epicenters of the poverty in North St. Louis. You can go from million-dollar mansions to bombed-out hulks in one block or less.

I was in Cincinnati last week and I agree but Lockland is mostly lower to middle class poor whites and its not dangerous and Wyoming has a lot of wealthy minorities like Jews, Blacks and Asians. It is odd but Lockland is not a bad part of Cincinnati its just blue collar.

Baltimore has some pretty extreme wealth gaps between adjacent neighborhoods too.
