Practically all of the liberal Southern cities are Republican/more conservative in the 'burbs.

North Carolinians think their state is a lot more liberal than it really is. I hate to admit it but it's kinda true.

part of that is the false premise that everybody that moves to Raleigh for a job at the RTP is a liberal Democrat from another part of the country. As though Republicans don't work in science and technical fields.

I was under the impression that Republicans primarily had occupations in the "sit on a porch and pelt passing minorities with rocks" field.
