$250K won't buy a house in Midtown Atlanta either...but it could buy a nice condo in one of the newer buildings. For a $250K house he would have to go outside the Perimeter or look at some up-and-coming areas.

Is this really true though? I see houses on the MLS for under $200K that look nice, in both Broward and Palm Beach counties. Plus, the median home value in Broward is about $180K, but it's freekin' $420K here in Fairfield County. I don't understand it when people say South FL is expensive, because it seems WAY cheaper than here or ANYWHERE in Connecticut....

Maybe I'll think about CLE again. Not sure why so many native gays there are pessimistic about CLE, but I certainly enjoyed my visit. But whenever I mention moving to CLE to someone I know, their reaction is usually something like this:

But if I tell people that I want to move to Florida, their reaction is this:

Of course, that means they'll have someplace to stay when they visit Florida...LOL. The thing about the gay community in South Florida however is that so much is based on looks and the "party circuit". I don't think you're too interested in that. There are some laid-back gays down there, but they're the senior crowd - they don't have to worry about having to work, etc.

Well, I'm certainly not a model or anything. I'm good looking and in decent shape, but I'm not fabulous and gorgeous and muscular. Certainly not into partying or circuits or the scene in general.

I'm 5'6 120 28w 6.5c vers/btm neg Italian otter. Which city would be best for me, based on that?

No doubt that Broward and Palm Beach will have more affordable homes than MiamiDade but I can't imagine the median price in Broward being 180K for a single family home. That number has to be influenced by a lot of low-rent condo conversions.

Median value is $180K, not median price. Median price is usually a bit higher.
