Agree. They should have borrowed another Louisiana pro team's name and called themselves the "Utah Saints". That would have made sense.

Yep, Orlando metro's market proximity to Tampa/St. Petersburg's market is an issue too. That whole I-4 region from ORL to TSP sort of share a fan base for all 4 major sports.

I think Austin could use a pro sports team.

I want to see that, but the people in Austin don't seem interested in pro sports. Longhorn sports dominate the city. Austin is never getting an NFL team, nor an NBA team with SA nearby. maybe NHL, but Texas (The Dallas stars are pretty much ignored in dallas for the cowboys, mavs, etc) isn't really a state for hockey (Houston tried several times for NHL and it all failed), so i doubt it.

Only sports I can see austin getting is MLB or MLS, and even with the MLS, SA is trying hard to convince the MLS to get a team so if SA gets one, then thats it for Austin. So I guess MLB is the only plausible sport.

MLS is most likely the only other major sport they could get at this point.

(And the Stars are NOT ignored, btw...)

With both Under Armour and Adidas expanding their presence in Portland, I see little reason for Portland not to add one or two more pro teams.

Fortune 500 headquarters are great. Secondary offices with corporations heavily involved in pro sports is also pretty solid.

If St. Louis can convince its voters to pony up $80 million to go towards a stadium, the MLS commissioner has said that St. Louis will get an expansion team. It would be on the west side of Union Station.
