So many people especially some from other parts of the country seem to have this contempt for the northeast?

I get the high taxes, crowdedness and at times hectic way of life but it seems to be a common thing to hate on cities or regions that are more developed or established than others in said countries/states, etc.

Yet, people are still moving to these areas in great numbers and at times even acknowledging they'd like to either live/work there because of job opportunities, better schools and quality of living.

For a lot of the same reasons people hate on the South, Midwest, and the West. Feeble minded people like to talk smack. Haters gonna hate.

I guessing here but I think people dislike the northeast because they are tired of hearing how wonderful it is for job opportunities, better schools, and quality of life.

Especially when they left and moved South.

Because they think the Northeast is synonymous with New York City.

Even with all of it's problems, I still think the Northeast is the most well rounded region that offers the best possible quality of life in America. A new study released today has found that Connecticut is the #1 best state in the nation, with Massachusetts and New Jersey being #2 and #3, respectively:

Connecticut ranked as the best state in the country | FOX CT

Official report: http://www.measureofamerica.org/wp-c...06/MOA-III.pdf

ALL of the five worst ranked states are in the South and run by Republicans.

I would have to say that Connecticut is as memorable as Vermont. I do like the NE though, just never hear of CT
