So I'm traveling to both Dallas and Denver for the first time and I was wondering which city you guys think is better in terms of sightseeing, food, nightlife, etc...

Sightseeing - Denver in a landslide. Dallas is about as scenic as a Wal-Mart parking lot. No mountains. No oceans. Not much remarkable terrain of any sort. Fort Worth has more touristy stuff, but it's 30 miles from Dallas and I'd still take Denver over it.

Nightlife - Dallas has the better scene, but it should because it's twice the size of Denver. Dallas's nightlife is scattered between a handful of areas - none of which are easily walkable to each other. Denver is more walkable and has a much better downtown than Dallas.

Food - Again, even though the Metroplex is a haven for chain restaurants, Dallas has a decent selection of food. Denver's food scene, while not as broad as Dallas, is gaining recognition.

If you're looking for natural beauty and good sightseeing then Denver's the easy choice. If you don't care about natural setting and you just wanna get drunk and eat good food then Dallas it is.

I feel like I've seen this poll before and I think Denver edged out Dallas. Either way I'll go with Denver. Main downside to Denver tough is it is getting needlessly expensive.

If we assume this is travel for a work trip and staying the weekend... I'd go with Dallas because it's going to have better nightlife (more shows going on and such) and the food will be phenomenal. Denver is decent at food and nightlife, but to get to the scenery, you'd need a car and a few days, which doesn't really fit with the work trip scenario.

If this was a week long personal vacation, I'd go Denver all the way.

Denver all the way especially when it comes to sightseeing.

Dallas was just a huge mass of concrete and chain stores and was unimpressive

My personal opinion.

Absolutely hilarious coming from someone that lives in Phoenix. Thanks for the laugh. Did you even leave DFW Airport?

I've only been to Dallas, but I couldn't imagine it being better than Denver. Dallas has the most boring downtown of any major city I've ever been to. Fort Worth, which isn't the greatest either, at least has some character to it. I hope to go to Denver some day soon!
