Here my answer based on my perception as an European from italy[quote=Stupid0;39619220]

•do you feel European or another nationality? More my nationality than European
•do you feel cosmopolitan? No, I feel Italian than slightly European at most but not coamopolitan
•do you perceive there is solidarity between Italians regardless of their ethnic identity? No not yet; there is still a clear distinction between us natives and imigrants, expecially extra European imigrants, and more so with Muslims and klose knit comunities like the Chinese one.. Which is something we don't know/comprehend relate at all; this even with muslims
•are you more drawn (sexually, friends, social life) by your ethnicity (whatever broad or small ethnicity you identify with) or it doesn't infuence whom you are drawn by? (Meaning do you stick to your people?) yes 95% of time I stick with Italians, and not even with European imigrants geographically nearby like Albanians; with the other even less. I try to speak with imigrants but I don't identify much with them and feel few bond
•if you stick to your people is this perceived as discrimination by others (and probably by yourself too)? Yes, but I can t help it; It s l

Also I would like immigrants stopped to stick with their own..and frequent group of Italians instead..because most imigrants form thight closed comunities.

I would frequent imigrants only if they go out with Italians group as those are my culture; I would never frequent thight closed comunities, because I won't feel well 100%; as i M not from that comunity.

Recent immigrants usually aren't that integrated here, except those that came as children.

Again, that's true of some immigrants as well here.

Social integration does not happen suddenly. It usually takes 2-3 generations and sometimes even longer depending on the circumstances.

BTW, I visited Florence (or Firenze as Italians call it) 11 years ago. It was quite a pretty city. I can see how you may be tired of all the tourists there though. LOL.

Ok; then.

As for me a monocultural and society that assimilate immigrants on our ethnicity is better.

Contrary to what Americans sayed here.. I prefer common culture and an amalgamate ethnicity (immigrants should amalgamate with us and identify toghether strongly)
