California is clearly King of the hill & no other place in America comes even remotely close. But with that being said ,Hawaii & Florida is the next choice of course .

Here's something you might enjoy about the most diverse states...Hawaii comes out on top.

Hawaii diversity is different than California's. IMO, there's really nothing like it in the United States. I still think that California is a bit more segregated than Hawaii is, mostly because the vast majority of people here haven't lived here very long and over there, most of the people there have lived there for at least 1-2 generations together.

Hawaii is diverse AND integrated, except if you're a Haole, then unfortunately everyone hates you.

I think the biggest indicator of that is how many multiracial people there are

http://www.census.gov/prod/cen2010/b...c2010br-13.pdf

Hawaii is 23.6% multiracial
California is only 4.9% multiracial

Yes your correct but in order to be the most diverse you need to have a major population of different ethnicities, Not alot of Blacks and Latinos live in Hawaii, Plus California is way bigger so of course Hawaii will have a higher percentage in multiracial due to having a lower population, Just in Raw numbers alone California has way more of every ethnic group in America, Plus it's the most geographically diverse also from the snow areas to the mountains & beaches,But Hawaii is definitely in the top 5.

Hawaii is 10% Latino, which is around 10% more than most people would expect. Rest of your statement is correct though. Compared to the rest of the country, California isn't all that black either (in raw numbers, it's the 5th most black state, in danger of falling to #6 to North Carolina: by percentage, California is the 27th blackest state, between Massachusetts and Rhode Island).

I'm just saying that people are selling Hawaii a bit short.

Off-topic: How stoked are you that we have the 2nd pick?! I'd rather have Towns than Okafor.

Im excited myself bro,Towns or Okafor im just happy we have a shot at having a better team next season, There's also rumors of Kwahi Leonard & Rajon Rondo coming to the Lakers.

Also I don't know if it's Mr Bryant's last season but we need to try and get him his 6th ring before he rides off in the sunset .

There is one poster who is notably absent from this discussion. He must be on vacation.

It depends on how you view diversity. If you see it as "lots of people who aren't white" then, sure. Hawaii has the lowest percentage of whites than any other state. But Hawaii is mostly Asian, which is really no different than a state that is mostly white.
Exactly.

It does depend on what kind of diversity you're talking about. If you're referring purely to racial diversity, then, yes, California is a top contender, if not the clear winner. But if you're talking about ethnic diversity WITHIN various races, then idk. I think NY might be the winner.
