If you were given a free home (up to $10,000,000 value) and a set income of $500,000 a year in the San Diego or Miami (you can choose any neighborhood within city limits or up to 20 miles from the city itself), which would you choose?

A) San Diego

or

B) Miami

San Diego! The weather is better, not to mention that all the cities you can drive to within 6 hours. Plus it'd be more enjoyable being rich in California vs. in Florida.

Initially I thought "Easy...Miami is more exotic and less conservative." But after thinking about it, San Diego gives you that in its proximity to L.A., and without the rude image obsession that Miami has become infamous for. Also SD is more laid back and less humid with ideal temps year round.

San Diego cons:
-Drought-susceptible
-Ruled by California's ineptocracy

Miami Cons:
-Florida

I don't want to pick either, guys.

***Luxury.

Miami. No income tax. I can always fly out and summer somewhere else.

Miami: Not to mention all the cities you can drive to in 2 weeks (Alaska comes in mind, South America etc..) or even fly to *Luxary* err Luxor, Egypt.

If you're rich, you can live comfy in either city or anywhere.. point is, 80% of Americans can't afford to retire anymore, so let's hold of with the mambo jumbo ego boost comments.

Obviously the replies don't match the poll! Being from Miami if I were to choose someplace in California to live San Diego would not be one of them! San Diego is like the "Tampa" of Florida! it's ok

Miami - exotic , latin feel , diversity , clear turquoise water, endless things to do, latin women a true international city for the rich.

On the other hand if you are looking to settle down , raise a family, live the Brady bunch suburban lifestyle then San Diego.

I also vote Miami better water sports, better downtown, and better sports teams also easier to navigate.

If you're into hiking, surfing, the military life or looking to settle down San Diego may be for you.

Miami has much more energy and entertainment and there is no place in the world like it.

Interesting. I guess you realize that Floridians outside of Dade/Broward/Palm Beach Counties consider the Tampa Bay area to be far superior to Miami in every possible way?

As do I. San Diego smokes Miami, and it isn't even close.
