Can someone tell me where there are hot jobs right now? It can by anywhere in the country. Something that doesn't require a college degree or years of technical training. I'm hoping it will pay at the least $12/hour. If they cover housing, that is a plus. Or at least a small fee for housing. Otherwise, I would pay for a cheap motel in whatever new area.

Casino jobs. They'll even train you. You could go to a slot tech school and be in higher demand. Wouldn't take long. There are casinos all over the country - even on cruise ships.

Vale parking jobs make great money, too, I've heard. You'd have to live in a bigger city or hot tourist spot.

Bar tender.

Or near a Native Reservation that has a casino. This website could help: Indian Gaming | Find a Casino

Prostitution.

But seriously...think basic supply and demand. If there was a career even remotely like that then don't you think all of the millions of retail/food service slaves making near minimum wage would've tried for it already?

Supply and demand

This sounds like the best idea. Thank you. Not too much into the Valet thing. Did a lot of research on it a while back and it doesn't like it's as good as it sounds. Even in Las Vegas.

The slot machine tech would take two years it looks like. There's a school in Nevada, but I couldn't find any others when I searched. Good suggestion, though. Most jobs advertised for casinos seem to be for restaurants. Which particular job would you recommend? I'm nearest to Foxwoods.

Like the others said, casinos. I would apply to every casino in an area you would consider. I would take whatever job they offered. I would bust my butt to learn. I firmly believe that mgt. Is always looking for people that perform. All this assumes you pass their drug test.
Good luck.

Foxwoods came to mind immediately. Perhaps one of the Native casinos in Upstate NY may work as well. I know that Turning Stone seems to always have jobs available: https://www.hrapply.com/onellc/Setup.app It is located in between Utica and Syracuse. I almost forgot, but the Oneida Nation is also opening a small casino in Chittenango, a community about 20 minutes east of Syracuse and you'll see openings for that facility(Yellow Brick Road casino). Chittenango is the hometown of L. Frank Baum, the author of the Wizard of Oz. Hence, the name of the new casino. Careers | Turning Stone Resort Casino

There are about 7 or 8 casinos in the Biloxi, Mississippi area on the gulf. Its a great place to live. I have no idea about pay, but there are plenty of apartments available.
