The Weather Channel asked thousands of Americans across different regions how hot is too hot to enjoy being outside. Answers ranged from 85 F in upper midwest states like Minnesota and Wisconsin to 94 F in the southeastern states like Arizona and New Mexico. Northeastern state like Massachussetts and Maryland considered 88 F to be too hot and southeastern states like Georgia and Virginia considered 90 F to be too hot. The usual humidity of each region probably affects how people perceive the weather too.
Interesting poll and map. I'd say that's about right for me, although it's important not to overlook sun angle/strength. 90° is not that bad here in Kentucky, but at Florida's latitude it feels more intense.
Not many people will be spending time outdoors in the southeast the coming week. Upper ridge forming plus the Bermuda high offshore and even coastal areas like Charleston will be near 100° on Monday.

It'd be interesting to see the same question asked about how cold is too cold and see what regions have the widest range of tolerance. (My money would be on N. Rockies/Plains or Ohio Valley.)
