Kind of a tough one for me, but I chose the NE. It is the most prosperous of the regions, and as such, I believe probably projects the most. Key ingredients are NYC and Boston.

While it doesn't actually represent Americans as whole, it has an absolutely enormous impact on how people perceive America because it's one of the largest exporters of consumable media on the planet.

I think the South represents America most to foreigners. From "Western accents" which are actually Southern accents, to BBQ, to all the music that blacks and poor whites pioneered that eventually turned into rock and pop, to Coca Cola and Dr. Pepper, you name it.
