People move all the time for various reasons. What was the best place-city and state- you ever lived? Why did you like it? Are you still there or did you move? Why?

Across from Peninsula State Park in Fish Creek, WI. Used to ride my bike to the beaches, or over to the top of the bluff where you could climb the tower and see islands, beaches, and the endless horizon. In winter, they didn't plow the middle entrance of the park, so we would snowmobile in and use what were roads in the summer and blaze through the beautiful park, taking the hills out on the golf course, riding down to the harbors and across to Ephraim or wherever along the water. Saw deer and bear all the time, along with other animals. Fresh cherries, strawberries and apples everywhere. Virtually no crime. Unincorporated villages, but (especially during peak season) world-class food, a real arts scene, etc. One of the biggest tourist spots in the Midwest, with near-perfect (for me) Lake-moderated weather.

Hated it at the time, as a kid who was looking for action anywhere and everywhere - was fun for the summer with the millions of tourists, but dead as anywhere you could imagine during the winter. Now, I look back and realize how much beauty I moved away from - beaches, bluffs, orchards, forests, hills, lakes, arguably the prettiest county in the Midwest. Still have land there (further south in the county), and will be putting up a cabin eventually. Still miss the summers there.
