Canadians feel the same way about their country and my friend in the UK is very proud of where she lives so I guess it's all a matter of perspective.
Most Canadians live close to the US border. There are few options in Canada and all of it is cold. The UK is small and it has bad weather.
No other country on earth can match the options the US offers. I don't think it's a bold statement. This country's huge. It should be common knowledge.
I like the USA and Americans, but I seriously couldn't live anywhere else other then my beautiful Australia, good climate, diverse, not overly populated and a low crime rate by world standards, that doesn't mean I think australia is the best but I wouldn't leave this place for America even if you paid me, I simply don't see what the US has that would have me rushing to leave the land down under.

As someone who has lived in both, they are pretty similar IMO. You wouldn't really have anything different by leaving.
We're not good at minding our own business on the world stage, not good at handling our wealth disparity, not good at controlling our corporations or our politicians (both of whom basically own us), not good at taking care of our poor or our elderly, and we have a pretty crappy criminal justice system which allows for one of the highest incarceration rates in the world.
We also lead the world in fast food and high fructose corn syrup. So I'd say no, the US is not "#1 at everything".
Bold statement? No. This is America, we invent everything. Others may take and/or improve on it, but we still invent it. Technology and medicine would be nothing without us.
Other countries may boast individual statistics, like the Nordic free education or what have you...but as a WHOLE, as a CONGLOMERATE, we are easily #1.
You have running water and medical access everywhere. Schools are everywhere. You can travel freely from city to city, state to state, and see different scenery, culture, and food that you can not do anywhere else. Just our land mass alone supports that. Tropical, Mediterranean, cold winters, mountains, farms, New England, progressive Seattle, you name it.
The closest to us would be Australia or Europe, but Australia is much smaller. Europe still requires passports to travel, and those are many countries, not one.
People may ***** and moan, self included, but there is absolutely no way I'd rather live anywhere else. I wont even travel outside this place, I have no urge to.I've road tripped 44 states of this place, and have no plans to stop soon. I'd say Colorado, South Dakota, and Tennessee were my fav's.
