Thanks leighland! The Emerald City truly is a fitting name I love the west coast too, and have loved living in seattle the past couple years! I will probably be moving from Seattle soon though for various reasons but am hoping to stay on the west coast, perhaps get a chance to live in San Diego for a while which i would absolutly love! Have you been to San Diego Leighland? If so i'd love to know whatcha think

Also, for those that give negative rep points based on their opinions without naming who you are and giving a reason why, you should really stop. I've heard so many people complain all over this site about this problem and it needs to be stopped. If people disagree they need to agree to disagree, not take blind shots at people.

From San Diego, my hubby got a job in Philly and that sidetracked us here but we plan to go back to SD 'burbs in the decade. SD is WAY expensive and its very difficult to get a good job there, wages are suppressed, despite the unbelievably high cost of living. I think its the best city in the nation (I've lived in 5, both coasts). You must get a job lined up as SD has lots of entrepreneurs but not many companies to work for. If you are single and not a partner in a law firm, expect to have roommates, a 2 bedroom in a decent hood will cost around 2100 per month. Scope out the SD forum. Lots of people moving there.... Good Luck!

Awesome thanks for the advice! I've looked all over the SD boards and see lots of good things, but always like having more opinions, especially from people who have lived there in the past! I hope you get back to SD very fast, and wish you good luck with your future move!

Boston IS old, and despite all new construction, etc., the overall impression one gets is one of an ... well, OLD city. While some people favor that, I prefer newer, younger cities and more modern look overall (I don't just mean skyscrapers). So I have to agree that West coast's cities do look more modern and more fun to younger audience.
