At the moment, I'm 19 yrs old. Im not looking to move tmrw or anything just gather ideas and narrow it down so in a year or so i can head out. I'm living in Dearborn Michigan (about 15 mi from Detroit), and i'm looking to move over the the west side of the country. The main reason is when things hit the fan I want to be in the forest or woods. I don't want any part of the city. Also I like nature and outdoor stuff, as i like to trail ride my dirt bike and mountain bike ect... I wouldn't want to go too crazy though like eating wild animals and what not. I would want my house pretty secluded but still be able to go to the grocery store if i need to. Also the least strict gun laws. Thank you Anthony

Why would you comment on city data about living in the country?

Arizona has some of the least strict gun laws in the country. If you live in Northern Arizona in Flagstaff, Prescott, Payson, etc. you will be living amongst pine trees and be in a gun-friendly area. None of these are big cities, big enough for the amenities but they aren't huge. All of them are about two hours away from the saguaros which make a great escape from snow during the winter time and because it is a desert, offer some amazing off-roading opportunities. The high desert north of Flagstaff closer to the Grand Canyon and Page is good also, offer some of the best hikes in the country IMO (including southern Utah) and good off-roading but I would be careful up there because most of it is Native American land (Navajo Nation). You do NOT want to break the law on a reservation.

The downfall to this part of the state is expensive real estate and rentals. But if you can cover that, then you're good.
