Not one of the choices and not a state, but. . . . DC.

The show "Cops" started out in Broward County (Ft. Lauderdale) in the late 1980's and featured crazy Sheriff Nick Navarro back then with his drug busts all over his district. He became a media ***** with the show's success.
Remember this was the guy who arrested "Luke" from the "2 Live Crew" for singing "lewd" words live onstage!

Definitely Florida. It seems like whenever there's news from Florida, it's BAD news....usually crime related. There are simply too many STUPID people in Florida. In fact, whenever I browse through old high school friends that moved from CT to FL, it's always a loser. I don't know ANYONE from high school or college that was smart and moved to Florida to pursue a lucrative career, except for like one person.

I'm surprised with all the votes for Florida. Yeah it probably leads for "stupid news" but not all news. If you watch CBS Evening News or PBS Newshour, or some other national news program, the "crazy Florida man" stories appear in the final two minutes, after the majority of the program covers stories about politics (DC), Wall Street (NY), wild fires or drought (CA), and celebrity tweets (everywhere).

California. It always makes the news for being the poorest state, the least educated state, highest crime rates, earthquakes, liberals doing something stupid, hollywood, taking all the money from the richest 20% and giving it to the poorest 20% so they can spend it on drugs and shoes, supporting gangs because it provides friends and "rehabiltates them". California is a cesspool of nonsense

Speaking of a cesspool of nonsense, try closing your mouth so you can see what you're typing.

Why is North Carolina even an option?

Georgia (and Atlanta specifically) makes the national news a lot more than peer cities like Houston, Dallas and Miami thanks to CNN, HLN, TBS, TWC, Fox Sports, etc. All of the major broadcast networks have Atlanta-based news crews, and Atlanta is one of three "hubs" for NBC News, along with New York and Los Angeles. It's all about location.
