Tennessee-- couldnt wait to get out. One of the best days of my life was watching Clarksville shrink in my rearview mirror. Yesssssss.
Southern Texas (excluding Big Bend) -- boring, HOT, endless, felt like I was in another country.
Northern Arizona (between Gallup, NM and Flagstaff, AZ) -- desolate, hot, dry, wasteland, scary towns.
Extreme southeastern AZ -- " " " "
Western & Eastern central IL -- flat, boring, cornfieldville.
Northern Arkansas -- nice scenery, but very Deliverance-ish. lol
Mississippi -- flat as a tabletop, freaky-deaky towns, stifling humidity.
Louisiana (minus parts of New Orleans) -- " " " ".
Central Nevada -- Truly Hell on earth. Hot, dry, desolate, endless roads that you hope to God you dont break down on (nice mountain scenery, thats about it).
Eastern Colorado -- Was this a nuclear test site area? lol Strange towns, nothing to see or do. Pure, absolute, unadulterated boredom.
Eastern South Dakota -- *echo* Hello...hello...hello... hello... hello.... Desolate!!!! Western South Dakota is stunning though. WOW!

I think we should change the name of this thread to "Shallowest Thread Ever." I mean are you guys reading what you write? Sure, there are a couple of you who have actually spent time in a place. But, for most of you, it's a matter of driving through or visiting one corner of one city on business. That's kind of dumb, if you ask me. That would be like judging Washington DC based on only visiting one of its worst slums, or London based on a trip to its dirtiest industrial area.
And California a cesspool? You have to be kidding me. I wouldn't live there because of the high taxes, but it's an incredibly beautiful place.

I am totally shocked that in over two pages no one has said where I live yet and I am not going to say because I care to see it again!

How would you know how long someone has been the places they've mentioned place?
Anyway, after being in these places for EXTENSIVE amounts of time, I say Georgia, Mississippi, Alabama, Louisiana (minus New Orleans), and Tennessee. I really dont like (or I should say hate) the south, and if I never go back to visit any of these places again it'll be too soon. Glad to be out of living in GA too.

Atlanta. A month there was way more than enough. I'm glad I had the opportunity before moving there. Theres a lot of good there but the traffic and haze really constricted the good I saw in that area. It's stressful just to be there and I didn't see a lot to distinguish it from other large cities.

By reading some of these posts. They admit to spending a day or two in a place and then simply passing judgment.
Case in point? I took two separate trips to Los Angeles in a three months period. The first time, I was stuck in a heavily industrialized part of town. The second time, I stayed in the Hotel Argyle on Sunset Boulevard. Two completely different parts of town, two completely different sets of perceptions.

Well thats their opinion regardless, and it shouldnt be considered dumb, as you said, just because you dont agree. Whether they've spent 1 day or 1 month in a place. I spent 2 days in Chicago and loved it, and spent 2 days in Alabama and hated it. If I had stayed in Alabama 2 weeks it wouldve changed my opinion of the place. I hated it.
