I 93 (the South East Expressway) going through Boston is a nightmare, especially driving up from Providence. The Big Dig helped a little (very little),
but your still sitting in traffic....
and now your under ground ...
or water.
uugh

I 4 in Orlando. Always congested and non stop fatal accidents. The only road in the U.S i have ever felt unsafe simply driving down.

I cannot believe I-95 in Fairfield County, CT is not on the list. That is one of the WORST segments of traffic in the entire nation. It takes nearly 4 minutes just to drive one mile. There are only 3 lanes on each side, too. Friday afternoons are horrific. Rush hour typically begins at 2:00 pm and lasts until around 8:00 pm sometimes. I dealt with it for two years and don't miss it one bit

And some morons think the highway shouldn't be upgraded, because **** anything that doesn't have bike lanes.

I dont't know why 95 in Providence is so high on the list, it's really not that bad .... there are far worse freeways

Was shocked not to see Fairfield county in Connecticut on here as well. Just last week it took me 2 hours to go 20 miles. I recently saw it on another list of the 5 worst traffic areas in the US.

I also use number 11 (Sure kill expressway) at least twice a month. Another severely outdated and dangerous highway.

PA sure does have some awful highways. 76 is probably 60 years out of date at this point

the blurb on Wiki is pretty accurate though many times during the day the traffic is so slow/stopped that the merge isnt bad at 3 mph; though when moving with moderate traffic this is somewhat accurate

Its narrow lane and left shoulder configuration, left lane entrances and exits (nicknamed "merge or die"),

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Schuylkill_Expressway

I use this a few time a week and are hours of my life I can never get back

so many road with perpetual traffic accross the country

^Yeah, I hardly even use it much anymore. I can take Kelly Drive or even Ridge Ave into the city. If I have to use the "Surekill Expressway" I expect it to be backed up.

CBX is another horrible one. I agree, I have always gotten stuck in traffic on the Cross Bronx even if only a little. And yes, neighborhoods were leveled and destroyed to build it.

No mention of the 95 stretch through Miami? Not to mention many local expressways here in Miami?

= Worthless List.

The 405 is not always so bad. It's 60 miles from my house to LAX via the 405, and I made it in under an hour both the day before Thanksgiving and the Monday after. Granted, both trips were between noon and 2 pm, not in a rush hour. I'm sure a lot of these "worsts" are dependent on when you make the drive.

I find the 5 through LA MUCH worse than the 405.
