Yeah that is racking up a lot of miles. I'll take this discussion beyond the list and elaborate....

January - Honolulu: Spending the coldest month of the year as close to the equator as one can get in the US sounds pretty good to me. January under the coconut palms? Yes please! What better way to cure the post holiday hangover.

February - Miami: After a month I might get island fever, so back to the mainland I go. But its still winter, take me to Miami! I'll spend the whole month of February on a boat.

March - Phoenix: The Sonoran Desert blooms in March with the scent of orange blossoms and flowering cacti, its the best time of year to be in the Valley of the Sun. Afternoons by the pool, nice cool nights, start and end each day with a beautiful Arizona sunrise and sunset.

April - Washington, DC: What better place to be in April than in the nations capital among the blooming cherry blossoms? I tend to prefer the shoulder seasons when visiting cities back east.

May - San Francisco: I can't say May and SF has any significance, sort of an in between month. But SF always has that in between temperate kind of weather year round anyway so why not go there in late spring?

June - Portland: The Northwest has really nice summers, but June is a bit early in Seattle to enjoy it (usually) and Portland tends to be just a bit on the warmer side. If it ends up being a hot day in the city, a quick jaunt over to Cannon Beach makes a good day away.

July - Seattle: I want to be on a boat in Seattle to watch the fourth of July fireworks on Lake Union with the Space Needle in the distance. After the 4th summer really kicks in, on the warmest days I'd jump on a ferry across the sound, or swim in the lake, and hang out at Alki Beach at sunset.

August - Boston: August is my birthday month, I want to spend it in my hometown with my friends. I'd jump on the ferry to P-Town and spend weekends at the Cape.

September - Chicago: Mid Summer would be a bit too hot and humid for me to enjoy Chicago. September would be a perfect weather for me to go biking or exercising along the Lake front.

October - New York City: Central Park with autumn leaves = perfection.

November - Tucson: November isn't the greatest month anywhere really. But the quality of the sunlight in the desert tends be nice as the days dwindle down and get shorter.

December - Tampa Bay: So, I'm going to cheat and go home for Christmas, but the rest of the month I wouldn't mind hanging out at St. Pete beach.

No thanks. I wouldn't want to force myself to live only in cities with at least 500,000 people in their metro area.

Wouldn't this schedule be easier...

Jan: San Diego
Feb: Las Vegas
Mar: Austin
Apr: New Orleans
May: Syracuse
Jun: Pittsburgh
Jul: Chicago
Aug: Minneapolis
Sep: Denver
Oct: Seattle
Nov: Portland
Dec: San Francisco

Remember you have to take all these flights monthly for the rest of your life.

I would love this for maybe a year or two and then would sick of it as I think one would get pretty lonely and never able to settle . I would much prefer three cities per year every four months which would be perfect. If that were the case I would do:

January - April: Miami
May - August: Chicago
September - December: Honolulu

Now that would be perfection for me!

Why go from Portland to Chicago to LA to Seattle and from San Francisco to KC to Riverside to Spokane?

Why not go from Portland to Seattle to Spokane to San Francisco to LA to Riverside to KC to Chicago?

You must love packing, loading boxes, unloading boxes and unpacking.

I would not ever live in 12 different cities each year.
