If you're talking about the entire state of Kentucky...
both the Union (Abe Lincoln) and Confederate (Jeff Davis) presidents in the Civil War were born in KY. Another 19th Cent. icon, Henry Clay, often rated as one of the best Senators in history, was from Lexington

Believe it or not, my hometown ( Ste. Genevieve, Mo) is so itty-bitty, we dont have any famous folks! I even googled it, just in case I was mistaken .
Maybe I could be the one?

My town claims G.W. Bush as their native son, although he wasn't born here. Midland, Texas. They have 2 of his houses preserved, and Odessa has one. I actually got to tour THE VERY BATHROOM he used when he was first married! And one of the rooms in the house has slanted wood fence pieces at a diagonal nailed to the walls. And I saw a cockroach.

Technically I live in Rockville, Maryland. F. Scott Fitzgerald is buried here, though he never lived here when he was alive...but the town officially takes a lot of pride in his being buried here.
Nearby cities....Washington, D.C. has few actual famous natives. The only one I can think of is Duke Ellington.
Baltimore - Babe Ruth, Cal Ripkin, Tom Clancy (my fav author)

In Albuquerque I would say the Unser brothers and Johnny Tapia(boxer) but many others lived here at some point but we really dont hear too much about them like Steve-O(Jackass) Xzibit(rapper,Pimp My Ride),Freddie Prinze Jr,Neil Patrick Haris,Jim Morrison, the Maloof brothers(Sacramento Kings owners and Palms Casino) are from here,I think even Bill Gates lived here for a short time.

From birth to age 5 I lived in Hillside, New Jersey. My next door neighbor was Phill Rizzuto the Scooter from the Yankees who later became their broadcaster for so many years. My Mom knew him well. She said he was not very liked at all in Hillside High School. I guess he ended up with the last laugh huh.
As far as being proud of that being my home town.......nawwwww. I think my Mom is though. That was 45 years ago for me, I was too young to know who he was.
