I tried to pick some random ones. Some in the Southeast and a few others. Someone on another forum insists grography doesnt dictate how friendly people are. There are excpetions to what he states, but in general, I think some states have friendlier folks than others (overall).

Probably NC, GA, or TN. You're right in that geography doesn't really dictate how friendly people are, but given how the culture can vary in places like NY, CA, and FL...the Southern states are going to be way friendlier overall.

Generally speaking, the further south, the further east, and the further inland you go, the friendlier Americans are. Peninsular places like Florida, San Francisco, Long Island, and Alaska tend to give off an unfriendly and cold vibe.

Of your small list I had to pick TN although I would have voted for Maine.

I found ppl in NY and NYC to be very friendly. They are just direct and it comes off as unfriendly to emotionally shallow people who need to be greeted such as:

"It's a wonderful day at Burger King, I hope you are having a pleasant day? How are you doing? (Wait for your answer). Responds based off your answer. Well, How may I best serve you today"

Wtf

Just take my order and stop with the small talk. You make minimum wage and here u are being a company man, being overly friendly to a point that it's getting on my nerves

A simple, "what would you like" is enough for me.

Cali ppl are friendly too but its a phony friendly. I agree, FL ppl are kinda rude
