'Often' dip into the 20s? Occasionally, we dip into the 20s for a low at night. The Average low in January (coldest month) is 40 F and the average high is 60 F.

Austin averages 88 days below 45 and 19 days when the minimum temperature falls at or below freezing (NOAA).

Yes, I do live in Austin and I've lived here for 18 years. I commute by motorcycle year round and I check the morning temperatures every day.

19 days where it dropped below freezing. During 4 calendar months last winter, the low temperatures dipped into the 20's or lower at least once. We even hit 24 degrees in MARCH. Still feeling toasty warm?

As for the OP's requirement of "Year round with temps 50 and above", even you stated that in just two months of winter (not the entire winter), there were 15 days where the temps didn't get above 50 degrees. So Austin does not meet his criteria, as stated.

I guess the question is, Roadking2003, do YOU actually live in Austin?

Oh, and if you're falling at 120 miles per hour and the ambient temperature is 50 degrees, the wind chill will be right around freezing. I'd be skydiving wearing a Snuggie
