There's a Cleveland-Pittsburgh one, no? In the case of those two, I believe Pittsburgh proper has a lot more professionals and college graduates living in it while Cleveland is known for having some of the finest suburbs in the country.

The two cities that Boston competes most consistently with in sports would be New York City and Montreal.

And while they're all pretty old cities by American and Canadian standards, there's a lot about Boston that sets it apart from the other two...They aren't that similar.....

Outside of the Brown-Steelers which is more a Steelers-Ravens (old Browns) these days ... There's no Rivalry with Cleveland .... People think there's a rivalry because the cities get mentioned together a lot, both being former Rust Belts. Just like there isn't one with Philadelphia even though there's strong Pens-Flyers rivalry, most Pittsburghers forget that Philadelphia is even same state, they consider it out of state. And Philly is the same about Pittsburgh, oh yea it is in Pennsylvania isn't it.

Boston and NYC have a fierce sports rivalry but NYC is like 10 times bigger than Boston so they are not that similar. NYC is way more diverse and international as well. I went to undergrad in Boston and while Boston is a big city it felt like a large college town to me.
