Of the capitals listed that I've visited, I'd give nods to Sacramento and Denver. Both have beautiful capital buildings. Denver's has a gold dome. The grounds around Sacramento's are gorgeous. Texas' capital building is HUGE, although I've never seen it.

Arizona's capitol area could stand to be improved, beauty wise, IMO, but I like the copper dome design.

ABQ is actually just the largest city; the capital is Santa Fe.

Cool Question:

Been to:

Cheyenne (kind of a neat town)
Denver (very nice)
OKC (though not much)
Phoenix (don't like it)
Honolulu (love)
Des Moines
Madison (such a great place)
Springfield, IL
Nashville (awesome)
Indianapolis (nice city)
Atlanta (not my favorite - but has its merits)
Columbia, SC (briefly)
St. Paul (briefly)
Boston
