As I travel around America I am impressed how many trees and bushes and flowers are planted by professional landscapers and homeowners. They took a plain looking environment and created a beautiful setting of green and colorful trees, plants and flowers.

What City do you believe is the most landscaped city in America? (Not a natural forest, but a planted environment.)

Scottsdale, AZ. Its absolutely beautiful. Even in the traffic dividers they have planted saguaro cacti, prickly pear, palm trees, grasses, etc. The highways have lizards, cacti, Native American art, etc, lining the sound barriers. Even the walkways over the highways are decorated with mountains and other assorted unique designs.

Washington, D.C. during the cherry blossom season, that is hard to beat.

South Orange County, CA as a whole looks overall pretty nice, but Laguna Beach jumps out at me for being exceptionally well done. Downtown has a nice mix of shrubbery with tall eucalyptus and palms. The coastal bluffs are all landscaped with succulents and various tropical plants, flowers, palms, etc.

I'll try to load some pics if I can.

I love DC's landscaping, it feels like a city in a park.

Washington DC is as mentioned, pretty hard to beat. Get off the National Mall and away from the monuments to see the actual city. It is stunningly beautiful, especially the NW quadrant up along Rock Creek (Georgetown, Kalorama, Woodley Park, Cleveland Park, etc) with surprisingly hilly topography and lush greenery everywhere.

When I asked the question I was thinking of places with lots of planting vs. a natural forest. NW DC is a natural forest where homes were built around a natural wooded area.

I was going to vote for Naples Florida. An incredible amount of trees and plants that were put in by professional landscapers.

I've noticed that Southern cities seem to do more landscaping than Northern ones. Lots of roads have flowering Crape Myrtle trees in the medians. The prettiest landscaping citywide I've ever seen was Savannah Georgia. They have huge tree canopies everywhere and tons of pretty neighborhood parks.
