...Do you actually have job offers in any of these cities?
At any rate, I recently saw an article that boasted Texas as the best state for GIS and related fields. You may want to try Austin.
I don't have any job offers yet. I am just researching places to move to if I ever get a job offer. Cities in Texas are part of it too. I am exploring options for when I graduate for college.
This is an interesting thread to me. I'm currently in my second year as a GIS major at Harrisburg University in Harrisburg, PA. There are a lot of GIS jobs in this area (we have a lot of corporate faculty from GannetFlemming/GeoDecisions who hire right from the student body), but since I grew up here, I am thinking about moving to another city for a while to get a GIS position.
How are GIS jobs in major cities? How much do the average person make?
Would I be living a rich lifestyle, or middle class with this kinda job? Geography is very interesting to me, I love learning about new countries/states/languages/etc. Making money with something to do with geography would be golden.

You'd make decent money...probably anywhere from middle class to upper-middle class depending on exactly what you do.
If you're interested in the natural and environmental aspects of geography, try environmental engineering. HUGE demand right now. That's where the money's at.

Let's keep the research going. I am even considering places outside of the USA like Canada and Switzerland.
