No, its the opposite. People dream of going west and California Dreamin. Not so much on the east coast. Nobody dreams of living in Jersey....

I think there is a bias for these cities: Seattle, Portland, San Francisco, San Diego, Los Angeles, Denver, Austin, Minneapolis, Chicago, Pittsburgh, Philadelphia, D.C., New York City, Boston.

This forum attracts people who like cities and urbanity... More cities are in the East so... If anything it should be the opposite.

I think its home-region biased. Nobody EVER wants to admit that there is ANYTHING wrong with the area they live in.

The most prevalent bias, which should be obvious from the name City Data, is that against rural areas.

So because NYC wins over LA, "the East always wins all the polls"? No. The South isn't viewed favorably here. All of the South is in the East, and about half the South is on the East Coast. And many people really enjoy bashing the Northeast, too.

Anytime the question is of beauty or best nature activities or something, the West almost always wins. So no, the East does not always win the polls.

Is any of this really necessary? Immature and ignorant.

Sure, nobody wants to live in the densest state in the union (!! but no one wants to live here right?) that borders NYC and has some of the highest incomes, most wealth, and highest education levels in the country, along with really good pharmaceutical/other sciences jobs, top notch public schools (how's CA in that regard slo buddy? pretty damn poor), great healthcare, and access to beaches, mountains, farms, hills, and more all within one small state. Poor us.

The things I would say about people like you two if I wouldn't get banned... The stupid petty "my area has to win and let me put down others while I'm at it" makes you look like middle schoolers.

Perhaps it has to do with your rabid anti-west coast bias?
