At First it was a dream come true because I was able to get perfect weather, have tons of actions and such but now 4 years later I actually hate Miami/Ft Lauderdale long term and am looking to move to Tampa bay Long term. At first like anything it probably is new and excited when you move but after a while it gets old I know that but does anyone have stories where moving has drastically changed there lives for the better and they can say they truly are happy?

Thanks!

This is *so close* to how I feel about moving from upstate NY, near CT, to PBC, from David:

"... never had the opportunity to connect with its soul (I can't find one)."

Coincidentally, we are also looking to make the move west. We were familiar wih this area as well as the west, but this is where the job was initially offered...

This all said, the weather alone is enough reason to be happier. Family that visit remark on how well we seem, which was a motivator to move here, so at least we have that.

Moved from a city of 600k to one of 50k, 700 miles away. Much less traffic, so no road rage. No long lines at the DMV or other gov't offices so no losing a day's pay to take drivers test or take care of other stuff. Much less heat and humidity in the summer so I can go outside just about anytime all summer long and enjoy myself, very little snow in the winter so same deal about being outside and actually liking it. Lots of free parking and free or inexpensive things to do so we don't have to spend close to a hundred dollars for parking and tickets every time I want to go to some festival or other. Yeah, it's not perfect but I'm happy!

Ha! I lived in NY briefly and loved it. Most people hate the state and can't wait to leave. I am trying to at least visit as much as I can.

I grew up in NYC and moved to So FL in my 30s. At 50 I bought an 1886 farmhouse in the Blue Ridge Mountains as a second home. I did not know a soul here but I was fulfilling a lifelong fantasy! OMG...I fell so deeply in love with the house the land the scenery the people...I made this my permanent home. I was lucky that I was retired and really enjoyed restoring the house, volunteering and taking art classes.I love it here and I thank God I'm here! I have 4 dogs 2 horses and I am where I am meant to be. I have always dreamed of living like this and it's as if I found my soulmate! I know...lol..sounds corny but it's true!!!!!
