I think when people have bad experiences they tend to blame the place. The worse the experience the worse the attitude is about the place where the bad experiences happened.
And also, i think people tend to have expectations about a new city or new community when they move there. And often there is disappointment and so they blame the place.
Those are a couple reasons for disdain of place i think.

He's a troll. He also claims Pittsburgh is too much like NYC and DC now and Pittsburgh is unaffordable to live in........
